Published! Utah Bride and Groom Magazine

Monday, January 4th, 2010

I'm so trilled that Jenn and Josh's mountain wedding at The Canyons was published in the new 2010 Utah Bride and Groom magazine. It's such an honor to have a wedding featured in this awesome local bridal magazine. I highly recommend that you pick up your own copy and read the article. Jenn and Josh first met at The Canyon's in Park City, Utah and are originally from California. They decided to go back to the place where they first met to exchange vows on top of the mountain at the Red Pine Lodge. This wedding is also featured on the Utah Bride and Groom Blog.

A special thanks to Heather at Heather Nan Photography for 2nd shooting with me for this wedding. Here is her post about the article.

How the couple met: online

How he proposed:
The Sunday after Thanksgiving, on a walk at the Bountiful Temple..... everything went wrong, but she still said yes.

Bachelor party:
Texas Hold 'um, guitar hero, and pizza at Eric's brother's house.

Ceremony Place:
Oquirrh Mountain Temple in South Jordan

Date: November 14, 2009

Reception Place:
The Point at the Huntsman Cancer Institute

Wedding music:
We made a custom Ipod mix that Colby accidentally deleted the morning of the wedding. She re-did it quickly while getting ready, and then we left it at the house. We had the piano on auto play during dinner, and a guest loaned their ipod for dancing.

Wedding song:
It was supposed to be "The Best is Yet to Come" sung by Michael Buble, however we danced to LOVE by Frank Sinatra

Fruit, spinach artichoke dip, tomato mozzarella and pesto sandwiches, veggie sandwiches, Thai chicken skewers

Amaretto and chocolate with a raspberry filling in between, and coconut vanilla

brown, and champagne

White tulips, roses, and hydrangeas, with fern curls

Bride's answer:
Holding hands across the alter during our sealing, and knowing that we were married forever.

Groom's answer:
Watching Colby and her dad come out of the doors of the Temple.

* though neither of us will ever forget walking out of the temple into the blizzard that started while we were inside*

4 day cruise to Catalina and Ensenada, and then a day at Disneyland

A memorable moment of the honeymoon:
Spending a day at Disneyland together (plus it was the first day of the honeymoon that Colby wasn't super sick)

Set realistic goals; ours we're to actually get married and have a piece of cake, and everything else was just a bonus. Things WILL go wrong, but that isn't the point. The point is to enjoy the day with the love of your life and not to stress over what does and doesn't go as planned.

Colby's: Shane Company, Eric's: Amazon

Colby made them herself, designed them and had them printed at jiffyprint in Salt Lake on cardstock she had purchased online.

Rehearsal dinner:
The Mayan in Sandy. It started as a joke, but people from out of town were so excited at the prospect of cliff divers that we had to go.

Guest book
Handmade by Colby's boss.
